The White Sands Pupfish did all the slugging on Friday night.

The Pupfish scored in every inning but the sixth and ninth innings to cruise to a 22-4 win over the Santa Fe Fuego in Pecos League baseball at Fort Marcy Ballpark. It was the eighth consecutive game Fuego pitchers allowed at least 15 runs and the 11th straight game the opposing team reached double figures on the scoreboard.

The Pupfish (25-37) led 7-4 in the fifth inning when they exploded for four runs on the strength of a walk and four singles for a seven-run lead. The Fuego (16-45) scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth on Chris Tavares’ two-run home run and an RBI single by Zack Carter to get within three, but they did not score the rest of the night.

The two teams play the third of four games at 6 p.m. Saturday.
