Struggling Santa Fe dropped its eighth game in nine tries with a 15-6 loss to Pecos League rival White Sands on Monday night.

The Fuego (12-19) spotted the Pupfish a commanding 11-3 lead after four innings and were never in contention as four different pitchers were roughed up for 17 hits.

Santa Fe leadoff hitter Josh Barnett had three hits to lead his team’s 12-hit attack, but the Fuego stranded six runners in what amounted to another lopsided setback. They have lost four games by at least eight runs during the current cold streak.

Santa Fe opens a two-game series Tuesday against Alpine.
