If you are a fancy sort of person, you probably get excited for things like wine pairings — which Cava goes best with which semi-soft cheese, for instance. If your refined tastes run to the literary and Anglophile, a match made in cockney-accented heaven is at hand this holiday season: a reading of Charles Dickens’ 1843 classic A Christmas Carol and Victorian-style high tea. The Upstart Readers present A Christmas Carol and high tea at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Unitarian Universalist Church (107 W. Barcelona Road). At 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, and 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, you can catch the show at the Vista Grande Public Library in Eldorado (14 Avenida Torreon). Admission on Dec. 22 is $10; events at the library are free with a $10 suggested donation. See upstartcrowsofsantafe.org.
