Straight from the soul

From the very first note, Thee Sacred Souls is going for the heart. The San Diego-based trio bills itself as “southern California sweet soul,” and it poured on the saxophone and the textured harmonies in its self-titled debut album on the Daptone label. The band’s first singles have collectively been streamed more than 10 million times.

Thee Sacred Souls has toured steadily in California and on the West Coast and will bring its love songs to Meow Wolf on Sunday, March 5, and then take them to England, France, Germany, and the Netherlands later this spring. Singer Josh Lane fronts the act, which is anchored by drummer Alex Garcia and bassist Sal Samano. Thee Sacred Souls play the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, later this summer.
