Ironweed sprouts anew

Ironweed Productions

Ironweed Productions returns to live performance with “Back to the Studio: An Evening of Scenes from the Plays of Rebecca Gilman.” The culmination of an intensive scene-study workshop, it sprang from artistic director Scott Harrison’s desire to “get back to the studio” with an exploration of material by a major American writer.

Gilman is an Alabama-born, University of Iowa-trained playwright whose The Glory of Living was a finalist for the 2002 Pulitzer Prize in Drama. Selections from Living, as well as her Boy Gets Girl, Spinning Into Butter, Blue Surge, and Luna Gale will be performed by a cast of 10 local actors, including Peter Chapman, Joey Chavez, Tulah Dillman, and Lynn Goodwin. Wendy Chapin directs.
