Earth Terma

Micaela Gardner, Micayla Duran, and Spencer Toll

In some forms of Buddhism, termas are certain teachings or artifacts that are concealed for eventual discovery and revelation by future peoples.EarthTerma, a modern dance piece choreographed and directed by Micaela Gardner, seeks to convey inherent albeit often-denied “earth knowledge.” Set amid sculptures by Tom Joyce in the Tank Garage Galleries and Sculpture Garden at the Center for Contemporary Arts (1050 Old Pecos Trail, 505-982-1338), a trio of dancers — Spencer Toll, Micayla Duran, and Gardner — performs in a repeating cycle starting every half-hour from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, and Saturday, Oct. 7, and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8. The matinee is followed by a reception with the dancers. Admission is $15-$25 on a sliding scale.
