The 29th annual Choreographers’ Showcase may not be advertising itself as a dance marathon, but with 20 pieces on the bill, according to Jasmine Quinsier, the Dance Coalition’s producer for the event, it promises to be a multihour event. Among those performing are Sparrow Dance Company, a modern dance group, Mosaic Dance Company, which celebrates Middle Eastern dance, students from Dance Space Santa Fe, and two groups from Albuquerque — Desert Darlings Belly Dance and Four Winds Fusion, a jazz/belly-dance company. There will also be a sword dance, a hula-hoop piece, and a flamenco collaboration between dancer Esmé Olivia and flutist John Martinez. The Dance Coalition, which raises money for scholarships for young dancers all over New Mexico, presents the showcase on Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, at 7 p.m. at the Railyard Performance Center (1611 Paseo de Peralta).Tickets will be sold at the door. There is a $10-$15 sliding fee and no charge for children under twelve.
