Estefania Ramirez

Santa Fe offers flamenco like New Orleans offers jazz. Entreflamenco founder Antonio Granjero, from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain, and his wife, company co-director Estefania Ramirez (right), created their own cabaret-style performing space and flamenco academy at 135 W. Palace Ave. last summer. Flamenco shows will be held at 7:30 p.m. nightly, except Tuesdays, at El Flamenco de Santa Fe Performance Venue from Thursday, June 29, through Sept. 3. Granjero is known for his aire, a term referring to a certain swagger some flamenco dancers have. He and Ramirez toured with María Benítez and have been performing in Santa Fe since 2011. They settled here and opened a school in 2015. Joining the company this summer will be Spanish dancer Lakshmi Basile “La Chimi,” guitarist José Valle Fajardo “Chuscales,” Barcelonan singer and percussionist Francisco “Yiyi” Orozco, and bassist Marco Topo from Milan.
