Check off the chore list this weekend as the waning moon heads into industrious Virgo on Friday night and makes powerful and productive aspects. Batten down the gardens for winter, canvass for a candidate, or dive into a self-improvement project. Our minds stay busy while our abilities to process and critique the world heighten, but let’s do our own homework rather than suggesting homework for others.

Early next week, the new moon in Libra asks us to look at the equity of all we do. Check in on house chores, relationships, working dynamics, and talk through what feels out of whack. Labor, legal negotiations, love, and romance all move to the front burner.

Tuesday night, our energies turn inward and our claws sharpen as Mercury and the moon join Venus in Scorpio. But even as we grow skeptical, we can keep our hearts open. Compassion turns the Scorpio energy from selfish to transformative. If we did our interpersonal homework early in the week, we’ll be in good shape and can use this mood to concentrate.

On Wednesday, we’re challenged to stay cool and goal-focused; mental Mercury opposes change-inducing Uranus and can bring unsettling news. Creative Venus squares motivating Mars in stubborn fixed signs, an aspect which can leave us edgy and ready to rumble. At the end of the week, some tough decisions may come to a head as the sun squares Pluto.

All Venus issues reverberate this month: women’s rights, relationships, and creative processes. Keep the art supplies and writing implements handy, and find creative ways to vent. Venus formed tricky aspects last month, and on Friday, Venus retrogrades and backs up over them again, beginning with that argumentative Venus-Mars square on Wednesday. Emotionally charged events can resonate with the past, but may also give us a chance to manage the problem differently this time around.

Friday, Oct. 5:  Morning is upbeat with a tendency to act out under an expressive Leo moon. Our critical edge sharpens around dinnertime. Our nerves have dealt with a lot of voltage this week — some people need to process that verbally, other people just need to unwind.

Saturday, Oct. 6:  It’s a great day to work through our chore list, but it’s most efficient to rush around between three projects. Tonight, misunderstandings can bring out our crankiness, but we can tap into magic instead.

Sunday, Oct. 7:  We want depth this morning, so don’t be frivolous; ask good questions and listen with a big heart. Check in with beloveds who have lots on their plate. Nurture relationships as the moon heads into sociable Libra tonight.

Monday, Oct. 8:  We can be painfully aware of a world out of balance. Negotiate in good faith around relationship issues or equity at work. Tonight’s new moon in Libra can begin a fresh cycle in relationships, so think about what to start.

Tuesday, Oct. 9:  The new moon in Libra opens a window for collaboration. Have a good talk and check in with one another. Tonight we move into a more introverted mood as Mercury and the moon enter Scorpio.

Wednesday, Oct. 10:  Unexpected information or taut nerves create tension, which can crack open our stubbornness; let’s choose our fights carefully. Take any news with a grain of salt.

Thursday, Oct. 11:  Emotional passions run strong and deep. A problem may seem like it’s settled, but it has just shifted gears. Take time alone but do not isolate — dragons are swirling in the back of our psyches. Be deep, kind, and authentic with one another. ◀
