The InterPlanetary Festival might be Santa Fe’s most eclectic summer event. Presented by the Santa Fe Institute, the festival celebrates the complexities of science and human ingenuity in the Railyard Park (740 Cerrillos Road) and features music, screenings of classic sci-fi movies, outdoor art, food, beer, and a roster of informal educational panels. Topics up for discussion include how to prepare one’s body for space travel, video game design, and speculative fiction. Bands include Tone Ranger, Lindy Vision, and Lost Aliens. The Interplanetary Festival runs Friday, June 14, through Sunday, June 16, with events planned from morning to night. General admission is free. For a complete schedule, go to interplanetaryfest.org.
