Melted metal found by archaeologists at the Shonnard House

The late sculptor Eugenie Shonnard’s house on Paseo de Peralta is being renovated as offices for the Museum of New Mexico Foundation, and when archaeologists found chunks of melted metal in the well owned by the artist, they had a mystery to solve. Eric Blinman and Karen Wening from the New Mexico Office of Archaeological Studies, which was investigating the residence, present their solution to the mystery in a public lecture at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23.
