Jason Salavon: Still Life (Morandi's Infinite Shelf), 2016, real-time simulation, ultra-widescreen monitor

Art House, 231 Delgado St., 505-995-0231

The thematic installation In Real Time includes new works from the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation’s digital art collection by Jason Salavon and John Gerrard made with real-time software. The software allows artists to create live animations that are in states of constant change and have no set durations of time. This is the third installation of the gallery’s Collecting Digital Art series for 2017 and includes Gerrard’s Flag (Amazon), depicting an oil spill on the Amazon River, and Salavon’s Still Life (Morandi’s Infinite Shelf), an homage to Italian artist Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964). The show opens Friday, Dec. 1; there is no reception.
