Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian, 704 Camino Lejo, 505-982-4636

The exhibition Jicarilla: Home Near the Heart of the World continues through April 16, 2017. This show of Jicarilla basketry, pottery, and beadwork is a joint venture between the Wheelwright Museum, the Jicarilla Apache Nation, and the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College, Durango. Items dating from the mid-19th century to the present are included, and the show draws from the Hortense Goodman, Joan Anderman, and Byron Harvey III collections, as well as other sources. Works by more than a dozen contemporary artists are on display in addition to the historic pieces.
