High Vista End of Lancaster

David Hines: High Vista End of Lancaster, CA, 2015, oil on canvas

LewAllen Galleries, 1613 Paseo de Peralta, 505-988-3250

The theme of place unites the visions of four painters in LewAllen’s exhibition Quiet Spaces, on view through Nov. 1. Christopher Benson’s reductive imagery captures still suburban moments and intimate domestic scenes. John Beerman’s paintings of pastoral landscapes and architecture evoke the beauty of their international settings. David Hines’ nightscapes have a sense of isolation and mystery, and Kurt Solmssen’s gestural canvases exhibit bright landscapes and expressionistic lakeside scenes that emphasize light and color.
