From The Santa Fe New Mexican:

March 13, 1923: No comptroller will be appointed for two or three weeks, Governor Hinkle stated today.

The governor intends to leave for Roswell, Thursday or Friday, to be gone three or four days on his first visit to his home town since his inauguration. Before he leaves he will sign all bills he wishes to approve. Those he leaves behind will get the “pocket veto.” What bills are scheduled for this fate, was not indicated by the Governor.
