Cheatgrass is not foxtail. Please post a photo of both so people can SEE the difference. Both are invasive species.

Is this weed also known as foxtails?

Pull after a spring rain, they have lots of root mass but will slide out of soft soil with a firm pull. Don’t procrastinate it only gets more difficult and like any grass will take over acres in no time. Dog walkers: carry a second bag and pull every one you see along your walk and throw the bag in the trash, do not compost. When the foxtail dries up it becomes very rigid and it’s designed to bore in only one direction. When it gets caught in your pet’s ear it can migrate into the eardrum and it can be extremely painful and even fatal if infected. So, pull the foxtails and scatter wildflower seeds.
