Santa Fe police have obtained an arrest warrant for a man accused of repeated sexual abuse of an 8-year-old girl about five years ago, according to an affidavit filed Monday in Santa Fe County Magistrate Court.
Hector Anchondo-Montana, 54, is facing four counts of first-degree criminal sexual penetration, three counts of second-degree criminal sexual contact of a minor, tampering with evidence and bribery of a witness, court records say.
The child, a relative of Anchondo-Montana’s girlfriend at the time, told authorities in 2021, during a safe house interview in Las Vegas, Nev., he had abused her over a period in 2016 and 2017 when they lived in the same home in Santa Fe.
The abuse usually occurred when Anchondo-Montana’s girlfriend was at work, the child said, according to the affidavit.
Anchondo-Montana had not yet been arrested Tuesday, court records and Santa Fe County jail logs showed.
The affidavit said it was unclear if he still lives in New Mexico.
