As a registered Democrat I can't morally justify voting for MLG.

She is no good for NM Mexico. Theses latest comments just prove she should not be reelected if she is going to call everyone that disagrees with her "lizard people". If we pulled half the stuff said did during the pandemic we would be facing charges for 1. fraud, 2.embezelment, 3. sexual assault (i.e. grabbing a mans private parts), 4. violating the U.S. Constitution, just to name a few. The only thing she is good at is seizing power, violating her own orders: 1. opening up jewelry stores when they were supposed to be closed, 2. going to Hawaii when she forbid New Mexicans from traveling (neighbor relative was elected to the state legislator but should not be sworn in due to MLG in Hawaii), 3. getting hair and nails done when no one else could, 4. sending her staff to grocery stores 150 when we were told to stay home, 5. used tax payers money to fund her lavish lifestyle including $550 in booze, 6. visited a nursing home when no one else could and bragged about it on her Twitter page, 7. fined churches after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Churches are exempt from all mandates and can't be fined for not following them, 8. keeps moving gating criteria, 9. skewed COVID numbers i.e. someone goes in for a broken arm/leg its COVID or for an heart attack it is listed as COVID (I had a friend loose a family member because of heart attack, but the death certificate listed COVID, but the medical records had heart attack as the cause of death and there was no COVID test performed), 10. don't want to comply with CDC guidelines, 11. caused breadlines, 12. refused to listen to science that clearly stated mask are only for the sick, 13, took away the holidays by banning gatherings while she had one for Thanksgiving, 14 destroyed children education, 15. Put all New Mexicans on house arrest in direct violation of the 4th Amendment that protects against cruel and unusually punishment, 16. encourage day time drinking which she posted a few times on social media about no drinking after pm , 17. Refuses to uphold the constitution, 18 threatened ration care picking who lives in dies from COVID, when everyone is entitled to same care regardless 19. Destroyed the state economy while using tax payers money to fund her lavish lifestyle. The list could go up to 100. Plus MLG is scandal ridden including 1. using tax payers money to fund her lavish lifestyle, 2. grabbing a mans genitalia, 3. The mess with unemployment benefits. New Mexicans are tired of this mantra of the "rules applies to you, not me" and that is why New Mexicans a protesting her. What does MLG expect to be welcomed with open arms, when she made life miserable and kept New Mexico on lockdown for 9 months. This latest comment calling New Mexicans who protest and or don't agree with her "lizard people" just inflames the situation, instead of calming it down as she should have done as the Governor. MLG actions since the Pandemic started has dived New Mexico not just between Democrat's and Republicans but within her own party and her actions continue to deepen and widen the divide, instead of bridging the divide. Morally and ethically there is no way to justify voting for MLG and I won't be voting for her come November 8, 2022 but instead for whoever the Republican running against her.

Bill Becher

Morons have the same First Amendment rights as intelligent people!

Jason Evans

Well, sure they do. But the 'intelligent people' exercise theirs while the others cancel meet-n-greets and decline to exercise theirs.

B. Rosen

We cannot allow the neofascist hordes to silence us. They have nothing to offer but more hatred, conspiracy theories, fear, racism and other such nonsense. If they had a cogent platform for governing our state they wouldn’t be trying to keep our candidates from being heard.

Jim Klukkert

Republican oolitical leadership now consists of people competing to shriek the loudest about the dangers of honest political discourse, court qanon, and act the most aggrieved.

Republican leadership absolutely loves queuing on because it keeps the people focused away from the real issues like declining wages, healthcare availability and costs, job security, workers rights, education, basically all the major indicators of a developed country where the United States has slipped from being a leader. Simply look at places like Alabama Mississippi etc where entrenched Republican interests have resulted in poverty, high teen pregnancy, low incomes, etc.

Richard Reinders

This sounds like NM

Jason Evans

Hush now, RR. They hate facts that are contrary to their agenda.

Bib Kuhl

OMG, Republicans are the biggest snowflakes. Always the victim, always aggrieved.

Robert Feldner

Well as a person who was right in the middle of this event - lets do a tally of the violence:

People Killed: 0

Arrests made:0

People assaulted:0

Windows broken:0

Fires started:0

Feelings and egos hurt by NM elites:100%

Americans of all colors and class uniting against lies and tyranny: 100%

Deadly and dangerous violence on NM people by MLG: 100%

Why not ask the NMSP standing feet away from the "violence"?

They were nice and many made chit-chat with us as we engaged in peaceful protesting.

We the people won that day - and will continue to fight for our lives and our children's lives.

Richard Reinders

Jason Evans

MLG never intended to attend. The PLAN was to cancel in order to create sympathy and falsely accuse the opposition of being a threat. Typical slimy dem tactic.

Jim Klukkert

Secret Agent Jason Evans knows what no one else does! Listen keenly to his wisdom,

NOT!

Adelita Medina

Don't you Republithugs ever get tired of lying?

Bill Becher

I believe that morons have the same First Amendment rights as smart people.

Bill Becher

More delusional thinking.

Russell Scanlon

Big deal. I attended the Million Women March in downtown Austin in Jan. 2017. There were well over 52,000 people and NOT ONE arrest or complaint (unlike Jan 6 in D.C.). Additionally, no one felt it was necessary to bring nooses, bear spray, weapons, or dress up like an advertisement for Soldier of Fortune magazine.

Stop bragging about nothing.

Bill Becher

I firmly believe idiots have the same First Amendment rights as intelligent people.

Angel Ortiz

“These protesters berated supporters with violent and racist language and stalked and intimidated press and event staff,” Sounds like more nasty GOP rhetoric. What a shame to see adults behaving in this manner. Your parents would be proud

Daniel Valdez

Let NM continually vote itself deeper and deeper into the out of state transplant, corrupt democrat, leftist, socialist, marxist, cesspool it's become.

Jim Klukkert

Not only is Daniel Valdez a sweetheart, whose fondest hope is to bring us together in harmony, but Sr. Valdez is also so eloquent!

Jason Evans

Ever notice how Jim Klukkert never comments on the actual content of articles, but just passes judgment on others who do post relevant comments. How petty. How shallow. How sad. How so very Jim Klukkert.

Jim Klukkert

Jason Evans- I rebutted a previous comment of yours, point by point. As you obviously missed that, find it below again for you.

With regard to my replies to your postings. Your postings are most often fact free Alt Right drivel, suitable for scorn and mockery. Until you stop with the race baiting and lies, expect to be met in the public square with raspberries.

Here are a few or my previous corrections to your post: EVERYWHERE lost $millions in tourism revenue last year. Small businesses were crushed by THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC & THE LACK OF ADEQUATE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RESPONSE. Biden's MOST SENSIBLE drilling restrictions ARE PART OF HIS ATTEMPT TO STEM GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE. This effort has long been delayed by BIG ENERGY & their GOP SHILLS, and in fact HASTENED BY DEAR LEADER. We can only hope our children & grandchildren will have a world not CRIPPLED BY THE IGNORANT who allowed the environment to suffer such wounds. Functioning schools may turn out to be the least of our worries.

Russell Scanlon

That’s because there was no “content” in those comments. Invective? Yes. Conjecture? Yes? Hysteria and divisiveness? Check.

Angel Ortiz

Yes, Daniel. Perhaps NM would want to vote in the new GOP. You know the one generated by the previous President. Supported by White Supremacy and racists. Now that is a true cesspool

John Cook

Why, pray thee tell, would you live in a cesspool when Texas is so close?

Bib Kuhl

Dude stop with the right wing am talk radio talking points. If you republicans would actually stop dismissing reported facts as lame stream media & hit- jobs, you night find out how much your beloved leaders like trump rile up everyone with culture & class war rhetoric, while screwingvyhe lower & middle classes w tax breaks for the ultrawealthy, fighting against healthcare, etc. It might interest to you to know that in most major indicators of developed countries the United States has slipped far from being a leader in the last 30 years in terms of health care education infrastructure and most importantly working people's wages which have consistently dropped compared to the cost of living, etc.

And media like fox news, owned by non-Americans, has you hating other Americans who simply have a different political viewpoint. There are no real Marxist in America you moron do you know how narrow our political spectrum is compared to europe? You are uninformed.

Kyle Elliott

Pretty sure she's only welcome in Santa Fe and Taos...

John Cook

You might want to read the election returns from the last election. I expect steering a middle course through too much lockdown and too little which would have cost more lives will be very good for her reelection bid. We shall see but the lizard people have never been more than a small minority.

Jason Evans

They used their voices. Leftist antifa and blm protesting thugs use violence, looting, vandalism, arson. If Grisham can't stand up to verbal criticism, maybe she's not the right person to lead a state.

Lupe Molina

We remember January 6th and will remember all your excuses.

Jason Evans

The climate is tense. NM lost $millions in tourism revenue last year. Small businesses were crushed by Grisham's edicts and childish crayola scheme (ow, what color is YOUR county this week??). Biden's misguided drilling restrictions will cripple NM schools by depriving them of desperately needed funding (just where ELSE will the money come from?).

Grisham is the queen of signing papers and issuing tyrannical edicts that cause economic pain and mental anguish, she's proven that that is her core competency. But a governor has to be able to face the constituents. And she's showing that she's either unwilling or incapable of doing so.

Lupe Molina

If you think this was tyrannical, I am happy for you that you are so privileged. People I know died because people like you just didn't have respect for the rules. And Republicans will get trounced for the foreseeable future until you entitled folks find some sense.

Jim Klukkert

Right you are Jason Evans: "The climate is tense."

There are a few corrections, however, needed to your post: EVERYWHERE lost $millions in tourism revenue last year.

Jim Klukkert

Jason Evans, please elevate your comments above race baiting and lies.

Or don't Mr. Evans, and watch your candidates lose in a landslide.

Khal Spencer

Speaking of sieg heil salutes, my mom, who was a Rosie the Riveter factory worker during WW II, used to sing this ditty when I was a kid. Never knew where it came from. Was from a WW II anti-N A Z I (the New Mexico censors that N A Z I word) propaganda film put up by Walt Disney Productions. Maybe we Dems should start singing this back to the other folks at these rallies. Just for historical context.

We are a divided nation that has followed reality TV from the election of trump to its logical next place: people behaving badly and being rewarded for it.

Robert Feldner

Incredible event. Watching NM'ers from all walks and ethnicities stand together against soiled liar who is owned by big pharma and abusive tech, who destroying NM small business to make way for international Corporations to take over, against a Governor who has destroyed education, healthcare and families futures, Against a governor who is forcing chemicals on NM'ers in exchange for "freedom "

MLG/1%/War machines/Pharma may control the TV narrative but is WE who control the community narrative and the spiritual narrative. This is MLK's dream - we are the resistance - and we are winning.

John Cook

Wowza. Get on a tinfoil hat, man. Quick before the alien Governor and her cohorts in space suck out your precious bodily fluids.

B. Rosen

Barbara Loeppke

There were regular New Mexicans outside the event that night: Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians; Native Americans, Hispanics, POC, and yes, whites; Mothers, Fathers, Aunties, and children; Teachers, business owners, restaurant workers, parents, and students. Interestingly enough, the majority were WOMEN. We’ve had it with the Governor. She has harmed our families and we won’t stop fighting back. She can act like a middle school mean girl, but the adult women will get the votes against her.

It’s interesting that all of the media can only produce one instance of “abuse and violence”. In reality, it that one instance was simply WORDS directed at them. The entire video should be reviewed to see what the reporter said to the man, prior to him saluting her like she was Hitler. Allegations of abuse and violence, but no video proof from all of those cameras aimed at the protestors as the people walked out? Perhaps those attendees don’t want to produce them, because of the self incrimination of their own childish behavior?

The PEOPLE of New Mexico are awake The scandals of the governor have not gone unnoticed and will be remembered. It’s too bad she has been so isolated with her expensive beef and liquor that she didn’t realize that people won’t stand for it anymore.

Lupe Molina

Everything you're doing is counterproductive. She will likely win in a landslide similar to Stansbury as you all continue to make pariahs of yourselves and the candidates you support.

John Cook

Keep using bullhorns to disrupt events and continue to give 'Heil Hitler' salutes if you want to be sure the Governor is reelected.

Khal Spencer

[thumbup]

Richard Reinders

Your right, can you call a Democrat Libertarian or independent QAnon Lizard?, I don’t think MLG cares what party they are if they don’t goose step with her.

John Cook

QAnon lizards don't consort with or belong to the Democratic Party nor the Independents. As you should surely know.

Jim Klukkert

Richard Reinders- any comparison of our Governor with goose stepping Na*is is a grievous insult to the millions who suffered and died under their attempt to rule the world, as well as all those who fought to exterminate those same Na*is.

Surely, on this anniversary of D-Day, you are not seriously foisting that upon us?

A clarification is in order Mr. Reinders. Do that soon, lest I need to repeat this challenge.

Scott Smart

Our governor has done a great job during a very difficult time. I support her 100%.

Lupe Molina

I don't know that I support anyone 100% but I certainly support MLG more everytime the lizard people come out of the woodwork shouting about their ludicrous interpretations of their rights. And the fact that Steve Pearce didn't denounce this is a nail in the coffin of his increasingly fascist party in this state.

Khal Spencer

Threatening to assault people is illegal and needs to stop, either voluntarily or with a little help from our law enforcement establishment. But nasty words and fascist gestures? Do candidates, their supporters, and the press now need "safe zones"?

My hunch would be that Ms. Denish needs to think carefully about setting boundaries. Snyder v. Phelps protected even outrageous and offensive speech at a U.S. Marine's funeral. If the rowdy language and der Fuehrer salutes doesn't fail the Brandenburg Test, its fair game although I would suggest to the rowdies that it likely will backfire on them and result in another landslide victory for the Governor. Most New Mexicans are not fond of this sort of knuckle dragging conduct. But hey, even Gov. Lujan Grisham got into the mud wrestling contest with “QAnon lizard people.”

This is not politics as I would prefer it, but if candidates or press can't take the heat, they need to get out of the kitchen. My suggestion to the Governor and her allies is for them to be the stabilizing force in a sea of idiots.

Khal Spencer

"...rowdy language and der Fuehrer salutes don't fail..."

Ugh.

Kim Griego-Kiel

While Mike was probably at that event shouting ridiculous things just like his comments here and every single day, trying to get folks worked up. The sane folks are working on saving lives, building the economy after the pandemic which not a single Democratic leader actually caused, and generally keeping people safe. When it’s not safe for the press and the general public because anti-Vaxers and QAnon crazies (a very small group BTW) are threatening them, there is definitely cause for alarm. So of course our Governor would need to reschedule, for everyone’s safety. It’s not a matter of not wanting to speak to everyone as some would have you believe, because in fact, those types of protesters have no intention of listening, only inciting fear and violence.

Stefanie Beninato

131 people shutting down legitimate election campaigning? And they want to argue that their constitutional rights are being violated? LOL

John Wilson

These protestors might find this Belgian soldier to be sympatico. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/may/19/belgian-manhunt-armed-soldier-jurgen-c-threatened-virologist

Mike Johnson

So, our Guv is afraid of meeting the people unless they bow down to her and accept everything she says and does with great joy, love, and appreciation. What kind of ruler does that sound like?

Scott Smart

What a ridiculous, Trump like, perverted interpretation of this event. You should work for Fox entertainment

Lupe Molina

You must be new here Scott. This kind of behavior is par for the course.

Russell Scanlon

Mike—you are enabling Fascists. Shame on you and the entire Republican Party.

Diane Denish

I was at the event and in addition to reporters, protestors tried to engage attendees with wild conspiracy theories about Gov. Lujan-Grisham traveling to China and selling out NM (a new one in my book), anti-vaxer signs about the vaccine based which have nothing to do with the science, and yes, one of the blue flags which is known as an insurrection flag. It is clear the Qanon factor of the big lie and even bigger fiction have come to New Mexico. Protestors need a defined barrier behind which to protest to protect reporters, staff and attendees -- they were much too close for comfort given their hostility, racist and foul language. Meanwhile, those of us who believe in the right to gather peacefully and hear from elected officials at state and local level must continue to assert that right and not be intimidated or detoured.

Mike Johnson

Gee Lady Di, you mean not everyone loves MLG? Who knew......

Sheri VS

If they don’t agree, at least they should act in a civil manner. Intimidation never won anyone over to your way of thinking.

Miranda Viscoli

Well said. Thank you!

Barbara Loeppke

Interesting that you say this. You came out and had your phone in people’s faces. You think no one recorded you doing that?

Bridget Harrington

Diane, I was also at the event and remember you well. You were one of the governor's guests and the one exiting the museum with your middle finger in people's faces, yelling insults back. I have video footage of most of the event and am pretty sure I captured that, too. As a former employee of the Lt. Governor's office, you should know better. Before you post exaggerated statements in a public forum and attempt to look like a victim, look at your own behavior and your part in the transportations first.

Mike Johnson

[thumbup][thumbup]Rules for thee, not for me.....know as "hypocrisy", the lifeblood of politicians.

Tim Herrera

Diane Denish is a has been, wish I would have been person that is soo deep in the Democratic machine that she will defend any Democrat regardless of how rotten they are. Her and Herb made themselves a rich comfortable life through La Politica and don't see that are just as hypocritical as the rest in this World. Throw people a finger it might get broken off.

Tim Herrera

Jim Klukkert, I was referring to her now infamous debate with Susana Martinez, look it up on you tube. She was trying to tell Susana she gave her staff “big fat bonuses “ but instead told her “you gave your staff big fat boners. “ it’s a classic.

Jim Klukkert

Tim Herrera- Thank you for clarifying your comment regarding Denish's mis-fire on “big fat bonuses, “ instead coming our as “you gave your staff big fat boners."

Comment deleted.
Jim Klukkert

Please clarify Mr. Herrera: it is hard to understand any reference of your comment "Big fat boners Lady," except as a reference to a part of the male anatomy.

Surely you don't mean that ¿right?

Adelita Medina

Well stated Diane Denish. These neofascists function by trying to intimidate people. Hopefully more New Mexicans will wise up and not allow themselves to be conned by the never ending lies these ant-democracy thugs keep spewing out.

Dr. Robert Lino

I agree you have a right to hear what MLG has to say, but protesters have an equal right to have their voices heard and not be called "lizard people" or "Qanon" for protesting her. Also 99% of the protesters where not "Qanon" or any of the other groups you & MLG claim; but instead every day New Mexicans (mothers, fathers, students, retail works, Democrats and Republicans, etc), all trying to have their voices heard over how she handle the pandemic. Also the videos show both sides at some points not in the right.

Jim Klukkert

Dr. Robert Lino- though we still have the rights of free speech and peaceful assembly, you are wrong to assert that anyone has the right to "not be called "lizard people" or "Qanon" for protesting." Such a protection would be an abridgment of the right of free speech accorded to critics of these 'protesters.'

Feeling may be hurt, but if you can't stand the heat, you are always welcome to leave the kitchen.

Dr. Robert Lino

Jim I agree with you on some of what you said. But at the same time, no elected official should be calling anyone that disagrees with them "Qanon Lizard People". Qanon is a listed by the FBI as a domestic extremists/ terrorist group, therefor by MLG calling protestors that she is trying to use the Domestic Terrorism statutes to prevent protestors against her. This is MLG way of preventing bad media, which she is plagued with, due to her unethical and unconstitutional actions. This is something all first year Ph.D. students in Criminal Justice learn. I fully understand the media thrives on sensationalism of the facts to increase viewership. As I said before and I will keep saying MLG comments are out of line and protestors have a right to have their voices heard without being label as Domestic Terrorist, like MLG attempted to do.
