The supposed New Mexico site of this tintype has been debunked, and even the National Geographic documentary's producer now agrees with the critics, that thy got it wrong. Millions of tintypes were taken in the 19th century all over the US. This one could have been made anywhere, in California, Texas. Oregon, or Utopia.

Would love to see a photo of the schoolhouse today. Taken from this angle.
