Santa Fe-based Sigma Labs has changed its name to Sigma Additive Solutions, the company reported in a news release.

The new name reflects the evolution of the quality assurance software company's decade of research, development and testing to this year commercializing its PrintRite3D software systems.

PrintRite3D technology detects defects and irregularities in real time during the metal 3D printing process. Sigma is aiming to make its PrintRite3D downloadable to hundreds of metal 3D printers at a company rather than laboriously installing them in one or two individual printers, as has been done for several years.
