Santa Fe had the lowest average gas price Thursday among New Mexico metro areas at $3.16 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, a 7-cent decrease from the prior week, the AAA New Mexico Weekend Gas Watch reported.

Albuquerque and Farmington both had the most expensive gas at $3.37 per gallon, and Las Cruces was a few cents higher than Santa Fe at $3.20. All were lower, as was the statewide average of $3.30, than the national average of $3.39.

But New Mexico had the 22nd most expensive gas, AAA reports.
