A 90-foot enclosed foot bridge will link the second floors of State Employees Credit Union’s new administrative building and its existing mortgage center behind its branch building at the corner of St. Michael's Drive and Calle Lorca.

The bridge will be installed in about a month, State Employees Credit Union CEO Andy Ramos said.

Construction started last summer on a three-story, 29,000-square-foot headquarters, with completion expected in mid to late fall, Ramos said.

Corporate offices, mortgage, commercial business and wealth management will move into the new building. The call center, collections department and marketing will remain in the mortgage center.

The third floor of the new building will remain vacant, and 5,000 square feet of the mortgage center will be vacated. Both spaces are available for lease by outside tenants, longtime former CEO Harold Dixon said.

“We have no tenants committed at this point,” Dixon said.

The pedestrian bridge was Dixon’s idea, Ramos said.

“The bridge is less about infrastructure and more about company culture,” Ramos said. “We wanted to make sure employees are connected as one culture. The bridge is the link that continues to unify the employees.”
