The 16th annual Art Santa Fe contemporary art fair will receive a boost in marketing and operational support this year when it debuts in early July.

Redwood Media Group, a California-based company that oversees seven fine arts shows, including those in New York, Miami and San Diego, announced Monday its acquisition of the Santa Fe-based fair.

Last season, Art Santa Fe hosted 35 exhibitors, with farflung artists from South Africa, Chile and Asia displaying ornate sculpture and modern abstract works, including a 10-foot-long installation of kaleidoscope puzzle pieces that wrapped around two booths.

Former exhibition director Charlotte Jackson, who will be staying on as a consultant, said Art Santa Fe’s international element was a big draw for Redwood Media.

“They did tell me they are not going to change anything — they like the format of the fair,” she said, adding: “They will bring it up a notch.”

While this year’s exhibitors have yet to be announced, Jackson said she believes Redwood Media’s “family of fairs” will encourage cross-collaboration between art hubs in Santa Fe, New York and Miami.

Art Santa Fe will take place July 7 to 10.
