Brandon Holmes might be a neophyte as a boxer, but he’s learned a lot about the inner workings of the sport just by being around his dad, Pat Holmes.

Pat, who is a trainer/promoter, has had the opportunity to work with some of the top fighters, including the late Johnny Tapia and Floyd Mayweather, and Brandon was in tow with him to see the finer points of boxing — an apprenticeship through osmosis.
