ALBUQUERQUE — As competitive as he was during the entire regular season, Steve Alford broke down a few barriers on Selection Sunday.

As the names of the 68 teams in the NCAA Tournament were revealed one at a time on national television, The University of New Mexico men’s basketball head coach was more cheerleader than adversary when four of his rivals from the Mountain West Conference received at-large bids.

    It's a testament to a great coaching program. Not only is he a great coach, his ideals and morals are rubbing off on his team. Excited more than ever for this NCAA tourney!
