These days, choreographer Trey McIntyre is making Idaho, and more specifically Boise, synonymous with contemporary dance. This peripatetic artist, who has created works for companies including American Ballet Theatre, Stuttgart Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and New York City Ballet, decided to form a full-time company in 2008, and he chose to base it in Boise.

In a recent video created for his website, McIntyre recalls the time that an audience member told one of his dancers that he was really good and “should get out of this town and go big time.” McIntyre says to the camera that Boise and his company are special and that he wants to get the message out that this is the big time.
