This new call-to-action documentary from director Stephanie Soechtig won’t make you want to visit the concession stand. According to the film, over-eating and lack of exercise aren’t causing the current epidemics of obesity and type 2 diabetes. Rather, the culprits are the added sugar (more addictive than cocaine) hidden in most processed foods and the fact that corporate profit continues to trump public health. While in some respects the movie is preaching to the choir, clearly, plenty of people still need a little eye opening: it’s believed that, if nothing changes, 95 percent of the U.S. population will be obese in 20 years. Rated PG. 92 minutes. Regal DeVargas, Santa Fe.
