During our recent outreach efforts to the community, the question of nurse staffing has come up several times. Some people are concerned that we do not have as much staff as we used to have, and that our staffing is impacting quality. I want to address this issue to the entire community.

Currently, our nearly 600 nurses provide care in our clinics and for an average of 130 patients in the hospital at any one time. Like most hospitals, we are investing in the development of our nursing workforce to ensure improved clinical experiences and performance outcomes. And we continue to focus on the retention and recruitment of qualified nurses.
