It’s been a busy month around here.

And by here, I mean the local sports scene.

Other shocking moments in SM sports:

The loss in the 1965 State Basketball Championship to Los Alamos, a team they had beaten three time during the season.

The loss to Grants in the first round of the 1985 football playoffs. SM was 10 -1 and one of the favorites to win the whole thing.

The loss to Silver in the first round of the state basketball tournament in 1975. SM was 25 -1. The only loss up to that point was a one point loss to El Paso Austin, a quarter finalist in the Texas state tournament.

The point I am trying to make is that when you have top teams almost every year, these big upsets are bound to occur.
