I have a confession to make — I cannot eat Navajo tacos. It’s not that I don’t like Navajos or tacos. Some of my best friends have been Navajo. My son is a quarter Navajo. His maternal grandmother is full-blooded, so that’s not it.
It’s just that I guess I don’t know how to eat a Navajo taco. It’s impossible for me to enjoy the whole process of eating a Navajo taco. I like shredded cheese, ground beef, pinto beans, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and chile — so it must be the frybread.
