It’s been said you need to keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

For Gov. Susana Martinez, the difficulty comes in trying to keep your frenemies away.

Rob speculates regarding the supposed source of the recordings: "Could it be Anissa Ford, another frmer Martinez campaign employee, who got crossways with the governor’s staff? She won’t confirm or deny it. Maybe the recordings come from someone else."

The reputed Anissa Ford connection is a hed herring. Look elsewhere.

As Rob himself wrote in his CapitolReport/NewMexicoWatchdog blog last year:

"In yet another wrinkle that’s popped up since the Estrada indictment, Andrea Goff, a Republican from Hobbs who worked on the 2010 Martinez campaign released a statement to the Santa Fe Reporter confirming that she had been asked questions from the FBI about the controversial deal at the Albuquerque Downs horse racing track.

“ 'I feel it is appropriate to come forward and acknowledge that I complied with a request from the FBI to answer questions related to various activities including those related to the Downs Racino,' Goff’s statement read, adding that 'none of the questions were related to recent investigation and indictment' of Estrada.

"Goff’s didn’t elaborate and her statement went on to say she wouldn’t take questions from reporters, leaving plenty to wonder what may or may not have happened between Goff and the Martinez inner circle and why Goff would release the statement."

Susana la Perra ejected Andrea from her political family a while back, but Andrea is one smart cookie and knows how to bide her time. Regardless of her own political persuasions, Andrea surely knows just what a "mother-......" Mother Jones can be.

"Hell hath no fury..." ¿Que verdad, Andrea?

It can be expected that there might be some problems in the Martinez staff. Most of them were Ayn Randian dreamers chosen for her from the GOP and Koch brothers think tanks, dedicated to destroying govt of we the people and turning it over to the billionaires and the fantasy 'free' markets that can solve everything for them with little thought needed on their part. When they leave the castle walls of their think tanks and have to enter the real world things can get messy.

You can brush off criticism of Martinez as "predictable" but making staffer Matt Kennicott spokesman for the state Human Services Department after saying Ben Luján sounded like a retard because of his accent says a lot about her that many might not have expected. Maybe for Republicans it's no big deal.

Here's another predictable: using Lobos sports radio and Koch brothers/Limbaugh megaphone KKKOB to rally her defenders and attack her detractors right after using the same hate radio station to tar and feather schools superintendent Winston Brooks for his Moo Moo Oink Oink tweets in reference to Hanna Skandera (another Koch think tank operative trying to destroy and privatize public education in NM). The hypocrisy from Republicans is very predictable.
