Every season in every sport yields a new superstar. The player that rises from the depths of obscurity to the headlines of sports pages around the country. The emergence of Jeremy Lin, the meteoric rise of Yasiel Puig, and the skinny kid from Michigan named Tom Brady that was taken in the sixth round of the NFL draft but has certainly reserved a bust in the Hall of Fame well before his career is over.
Although he is not quite of that magnitude, there is such a star rising from the University of New Mexico men’s basketball team, and his name is Cameron Bairstow.
