SFCC, city address hospitality

The New Mexican (“Put hospitality first in tourism,” Our View, June 30) is right on: “There is no better place for world-class hospitality education than Santa Fe — and the city of Santa Fe and Santa Fe Community College should take the lead in making it happen.” We are pleased to say, we’re on it.

I am going to vote for the governor who hasn't declared a war on children, teachers or poverty. That means no voting for Susana Martinez!

I don't condone any of the attacks from either sides, and lament the attacks toward Israel also. To think that one or the other side "started" the current chaos conveniently ignores much historical context of events.

t makes me sick that our current herd-mentality congress, and political leaders in-general, are bribed with political contributions from AIPAC and the "Israel-lobby", to provide more and more money which directly facilitates the retribution on Palestinians. It's a no-brainer, that if Israel allocates some small percent of the Billion$ of military "aid" that the U.S. gives them every year, to political campaign contributions back to congress; they become fervent supporters and shills for whatever Israel does.

Most other countries' foreign policy has NOT been bought by Israel (with our own money), and their opinion of the treatment of Palestinians is more akin to apartheid than "self-defense".

Without our one true ally in the mideast, many more 9 to 12 year olds would die, I guarantee you that. Hamas and other radical Muslim groups across the region could care less how many children die. If Israel wanted to 'cleanse' Gaza, they could have easily killed forty thousand since July 8, not four hundred. The deaths of the four children on the beach was clearly a military misfire error, not a "murder" as you state. Israel has nothing to gain by killing innocents.
You assess no blame to Hamas, who DID intentionally murder three Israeli teens, and Hamas fervently hopes that Israel will kill more Palestinian civilians, since it will put international pressure on Israel to stop their current operations.

I was mistaken; the four boys playing on the beach who were murdered by Israeli "defense" forces a few days ago were ages 9 to 12.

    Re "Israel Responds"

A few days ago, Israel targeted and brutally killed four teenage boys who were playing on the beach. They also bombed hospitals this week. About 400 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since July 8. About 5 Israelis have been killed. It's a sad situation, but this "conflagration" began well before the recent incident Rabbi Levy cites.

Eventually, with financial, political (about the only country at the UN which supports Israel) and "moral" support of the United States, Israel will obliterate (or cleanse) Gaza of Palestinians. At that time, will our idiot congresspersons at least have the fiscal sense to stop giving Israel $4 Billion dollars a year (well-over $10 Million per day) to enable their genocide? The rabbi had better hope that happens soon, or he'll have to rely on passing the hat at his church (temple?) to continue funding the collective punishment of a captive population.
