January 28, 1910: Elias Clark, merchant at the Plaza del Alcalde, Rio Arriba County, is in the capital on a business trip.

Unless his presence is demanded longer in Washington, D.C., Gov. George Curry will start for Santa Fe on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Dockweiler of Tesuque Valley who spent the winter at Syracuse, N.Y., expect to leave next week for New York City. They write that the weather is quite disagreeable in the East and that they miss New Mexico's sunshine.

January 28, 1960: Santa Fe City Council, pulling another about face, last night called for completion of the entire route of a cross-town arterial, leaving the gate open for the Bureau of Public Roads and State Highway Department to begin construction on the south portion of the north-south bypass through the city this year. The action rescinded a decision at a meeting earlier this month which withdrew all requests for construction of the south portion of the million-dollar urban project which will extend from the Taos highway to St. Michael's Dr.

January 28, 1985: At 12:01 this morning, Public Service Company of New Mexico, the state's largest electrical utility, became the owner of Gas Company of New Mexico, the state's largest natural gas utility. Consumers will soon begin getting $128 million in refunds from PNM and Gas Co. resulting from judgments in a price-fixing lawsuit. The refunds will be paid back over the next two years. The Gas Co. takeover brings to an end a 10-year-old, $300 million federal lawsuit, the largest anti-trust case in the state's history.
