December 9, 1959: A dusty steel filing cabinet found locked and keyless in a Bureau of Revenue vault has yielded more than a half million dollars in delinquent school tax claims, School Tax Director Carl Folkner said today. Folkner said that when a locksmith opened the cabinet all three of its drawers were found jammed with "debit vouchers" made out against delinquent taxpayers but never acted upon. He said their dates ranged back eleven years. Folkner said that collections based on forms taken from the locked cabinet have passed the half-million dollar mark.
