Search underway for missing man in Pecos

Stanley Vigil

New Mexico State Police helicopter crews and other search-and-rescue teams have been scouring the Pecos area in search of a man who went missing last week during a hunting trip with his family.

Stanley Vigil, 54, was last seen Tuesday near Barrillas Peak, east of Pecos, state police said in a news release. They are asking for the public’s help in determining the man’s whereabouts.

Vigil is described as 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, with hazel eyes and short-cropped brown hair. He was last seen wearing a yellow vest, a blue shirt and blue jeans.

Crews have been searching for him since his disappearance, state police say.

Police ask anyone with information about the man to call 505-827-9300.
