A 31-year-old female patrol officer who has been with the city police department for less than two years has accused a veteran officer of sexual assault, Santa Fe police and the woman’s lawyer said Wednesday.

Police Chief Ray Rael acknowledged that the woman had reported the incident to department supervisors a week and a half to two weeks ago, and that the case has been turned over to New Mexico State Police and to the city department’s Internal Affairs Office for investigations.

There was also that one a few weeks back about a woman assaulting her "latest boyfriend" or something.
This is pretty basic stuff to do so egregiously wrong.

No, you're not. The article was obviously written that way to call into question the credibility of the victim and establish character for the alleged attacker. But why would we expect the New Mexican to be unbiased? I expect them to perpetuate the cultural stereotypes such as victim-blaming. Expecting anything more would be too high a bar for this publication.

Am I the only one seeing a bias against the accuser in the wording of this sentence?
