Poll: Majority favors fed-run preserve

A majority of New Mexico voters and sportsmen want to see management of the 89,000-acre Valles Caldera National Preserve turned over to the National Park Service, according to a recent poll.

A lot fewer of those surveyed liked the idea of handing the preserve’s management to the New Mexico Game and Fish Department.

    We want them to oversee that area but haven't increased their budget to provide the extra service. Solution: Cut a smidge out of the giveaways and subsidies and give the savings to the services we want.
