    Thank you for the article - educating the public about this $5 requirement makes a difference, as it helps all candidates as we are out in the community collecting donations to meet this qualification.

    I expect that a lot of those $5 dollar "donations" will be quietly supplied or supplemented by the candidates themselves, since they will receive 20 times the amount they're required to collect, in public funds. Kind of a no-brainer actually to expect that to happen. And there's little way to disprove it.

    They should withhold a couple grand from each candidate until after the election and all their stupid signs are collected from public view within a week, or lose the money.
