It’s no secret that part of Republican Gov. Susana Martinez’s re-election strategy is to peel off the normally high vote for Democratic candidates among predominantly Hispanic communities in Northern New Mexico.

And one way her campaign has tried to do that is by enlisting the help of local Hispanic leaders who happen to be registered Democrats.

    I LOVE Darren Cordova's music.

The fact that she sent National Guard to help out in an emergency doesn't negate the fact that her political actions have always helped New Mexicans.

The tossing out of mental health providers, before they were found guilty of any wrongdoing, and paying excessive fees to a Arizona company, before any facts were discovered(so far no excessive Medicare fraud reviled) the stacking of race track commissioners before the Downs contract was awarded to the Louisiana bidder(billions of dollars involved), the big dollar backers of the Martinez administration and the favors she will have to repay, will hurt New Mexico..

Wake Up...Northern NM Voters...she is not one of us....

Darren, don't let her use you. Your passion for New Mexico music and it's people should not be wasted.

It is ironic, that petitioning the governors office on community issues, receives no responses from either her or her staff, except of course when she or her staff selectively choose who, what, when, and where to be seen with in a political calculus designed to maximize her electability. I did not see her standing up for Mora County and their anti fracking? As a community in Santa Fe County, we asked for her guidance in another energy industry issue, never received a response. She appears to be playing politics with education in northern NM communities, doing her best to break down previously successful programs that benefit the communities. In short, if it serves her continuance, she may be advocating, or stands a good possibility of doing so. If it is for the community good, and the overall good of New Mexico, but runs counter to her out of state flow of money, that particular issue, no matter what it is, or how beneficial or necessary, will never see the light of day. Martinez rides her name, and in my opinion, self promotes at anyone's expense except hers. Vote her out!

What, another (Read: US Pharaoh) politician using Latino-Americans for only
    self-serving political-gain?
Then again, who knows, maybe behind closed doors Ortiz and Cordova
will get cussed-out in Spanglish by -gasp- the "Latina" "Governor"
AND her largely Anglo-American staff! Maybe even, her RNC tejano donors, too!
    Only, in "America"!

    GO UTEP!
    And, STAY.
