The father of a 22-year-old Pecos woman who was reported missing earlier this month said Monday that the family of Ginger Encinias has identified the body found Feb. 19 on Rowe Mesa as hers.
State police have refused to publicly discuss any circumstances surrounding the death and on Monday still wouldn’t “officially” confirm that the body found on Rowe Mesa was that of Encinias, who had been reported missing five days prior. State police spokesman Tony Lynn said the department is still waiting until an autopsy report from the state Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque is complete and has established positive identification.
