A former consultant for City Councilor Patti Bushee’s mayoral campaign has filed a lengthy ethics complaint that not only accuses Bushee of violating the city’s public finance code, but also revealed the campaign’s early strategies for raising funds and researching opponents.

The 68-page document, filed late Monday with the city’s Ethics and Campaign Review Board by Tarin Nix, offers a rare look into the inner workings of a mayoral campaign, including Bushee’s decision to abandon a privately financed campaign when fundraising efforts stalled, despite concerns that the city’s public finance code was flawed.

Who's "ALL" Mr. Green? Oh 24% of a poll of a small % of the 23% of voters that bother to vote?
    That "ALL"?

The Bushee/Coss connection goes back to when Coss was City Manager and it was Debbie Jaramillo who is the responsible link that connected the two. Coss and Bushee sponsored Romero for City Manager. Jaramillo, Bushee, and Coss owe Fat Bill Richardson for there double dipping State jobs (not to mention Javier owing for his Regent appointment). It was Gov. Susana Banana that had Coss and Hendry by the economic juevos forcing them both to kiss Rebecca's backside. Morty and Oppenheimer are just flunkies for the deep blue brokers like Flance and jil Cooper Udall. Personally I think the only good person in whole pile Is Hendry because his is creating private sector jobs and rest are institutional people firmly sucking on the government tit.

I'm curious where all the concerned citizens that wigged out over that Labor Guy that was revealed to be supporting Javier, and how they cried out in horror about the mechanics of running a municipal campaign? One of the outrages was that a campaign organization would ever hire someone to research the opposition (a normal part of campaign "preparedness"), and of course here in paragraph two of this story is that a key part of the Bushee Campaign Plan was "researching opponents". Too bad Patti and Rebecca's campaigns didn't think to comment at the time that is typical of most campaigns.

(overheard by a fly on the wall in closed backroom council chamber)
"We just need to appear smart and productive by voting-in something that sounds popular. Guess we'll have to pass it before we can read it. Besides, what are we paying these lawyers for, if not to clean-up after us. Lunch?

What does it tell us about the city council when even the councilors who voted for the ordinance complain that it's cumbersome and confusing?

I can't say that there is a candidate in this election that I'd support. I voted for you once, it that's indicative of anything.

Oh by the way, if there was a candidate supported by shadowy power-brokers intent on getting a bible-thumping tea-party conservative backed candidate elected, I'd be against them, too. But there isn't a candidate that fits that description, and if there was, that candidate wouldn't have a chance of getting elected in this town.

Really, I'd like a mayor who was truly committed to doing what's in the best interest of all Santa Feans and not beholden to any special interests or shadowy puppet masters. But the powers-that-be don't like candidates like that, which explains why Josina and Michael are both now out of the running.

maybe the life insurance Ponzi scheme will surface while uncovering the truth about the parks bond money misspending that funded temps while cutting full time employees to achieve fake salary savings, or maybe the misuse of transit grants will appear first!

I know from your 570 previous postings who you're against but who are you for?
Oh by the way, I'm not sure Tea-conservative are any better than "latte-liberal" like Bushee.

You are so right about Romero and the role Bushee played covering up his disgraceful mismanagement and his MISAPPROPRIATION of funds. When I spoke to Coss about Romero's and the Parking division's misuse of public funds all the Coss could say about my allegation was that Romero "did sign the paper" (meaning the fraudulent Purchase Order.).

"Confusing rules" are you kidding? Patti wrote the rules and hired the woman.
The "real secret" of Patti's political career is that if she wasn't appointed to her first council seat she never would have never won a seat on the Council in the first place. Patti's petty politics are about "Tokenism" and institution greed and if there anything about her 17 years in office it is the need for term limits.

Tarin Nix is part of the Morty Simon and Carol Oppenheimer cabal that is trying to retain power by getting their chosen Coss replacement puppet, Javier Gonzales, elected. This is just another dirty play by the shadowy power-brokers who want to use their grip on the unions to secretly run Santa Fe for the benefit of the latte-liberals on the East-side.

No suprise Patty has been there 17 years double dipping from the state and city for personal gains. Santa Fe if you want the same corruption, theft and MISMANAGEMENT of your tax dollars like Coss and Co. than vote for Patty. Who knows she will probably bring ego driven and pro thief Romero back. Alot of bond fixing still to do. Does anyone know where the City is with Romero's signed life insurance document on all city employees for his personal gain or did Tapia already get rid of it for him?

The point of the story is that the rules are confusing and Patti hired a woman who was not competent and was later fired.

The real secret of Patti's campaign is many years of ethical dedication to the City of Santa Fe.

This is a clear indication of how she would run the cty, no surprise Romero was praised be Bushee so often! They both run afoul of ethics on an hourly basis.
