Two state police officers racked up thousands of dollars in overtime, holiday pay and other expenses while providing security for Gov. Susana Martinez’s husband on an out-of-state hunting trip, according to documents released Friday by the state Department of Public Safety.

First gentleman Chuck Franco took the six-day trip to Louisiana in early September 2011. The Governor’s Office has said that Franco paid his own expenses and that the officers were sent on order of the state police chief. The officers traveled in a state vehicle.
