An Edgewood woman accused of animal cruelty will have to pay about $27,000 to cover room and board for 45 dogs seized from her home, or agree to relinquish the animals for adoption.
District Judge Sarah Singlet on Monday gave 48-year-old Debra Clopton 15 days to post a bond to cover the cost of 30 days of care for the animals beginning April 1, or agree to allow others to adopt the dogs. Singleton also ordered Clopton to pay for three days of care provided to three dogs that were subsequently euthanized due to neurological problems.
