Steven Fisher: I fail to understand how anyone can assert that gay marriage is not legal in NM. The main portion of the statute regarding marraige is gender neutral, referring only to "parties." Yes, it is true that other subportions of the statute make reference to "bride" and "groom" but to use this as a reason for prohibiting people of the same sex to get married at all is ludicrous. If something is not expressly deemed to be illgegal in this country, it's legal.
