Pecos business operators are livid that the U.S. Forest Service has closed a campground, locked day-use toilets and taken away trash cans from popular recreation sites in the Pecos Canyon.

A Santa Fe National Forest spokesman says the problem is lack of funds to maintain the recreation sites.

SEQUESTRATION!!!!! Duh! Our Federal government has a budget deficit of nearly $17 trillion!!! Sequestration is a forced plan to take a temporary cut in spending by reducing by 8% the current budget spending through the fiscal year (Sept. 2013). Sequesrtation is effecting almost all areas of federal spending ... from the park departments, to schools, to food stamps, to military, to FBI, to DHS, to Border Patrol and tons more.

As unplesant as this might be America can not continue on the path of spending without have money in the bank.

During this Sequestration it is the American peoples job to work with less... this means SELF PATROLING the parks by leaving each site better than one found it. Carry your trash back home with you & bring you own port-a-potty are examples. Most Americans are not filthy pigs...but obviously a few are spoiling things for the majority!!!!

The Forest Service & Park services have repored recieving memoS from Washington stating to make the Sequestration as unpleanant as possible.
Got to love this Obama mandate/law, right?
The Forest Service & Parks Department have submitted ideas to lessEN the impact of Sequestration HOWEVER OBAMA SAID 'MAKE IT HURT"!!!

that's cool. take the resources out. no forest ranger, no services, no nada and see how that works. In no time the vagrants will be living off the land out there and the next huge forest fire will go un noticed until its too late.
