The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office says the wrong-way driver who collided with two other vehicles on Interstate 25 last week had a blood alcohol content of 0.20 — more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Leela Perez, 26, of Santa Fe was allegedly going the wrong way on I-25 between Eldorado and Santa Fe at about 6:30 p.m. March 4 when she hit two northbound vehicles, including one driven by a pregnant woman from Raton.

It is easy to get "Fierroed" from two mixers; If by mixer you mean rum + whiskey.

This girl shouldn't just be sorry for the pain and suffering she caused, she should be grateful that the first responders were able to get the pregnant woman to the hospital and that the baby got delivered.

I'm sure this is one alum in the news that Santa Fe Prep and Colorado College would prefer to not to shine their spotlight on.

Do you think its even relevant where she went to high school and college?

That drink wheel says I can have 5 light beers in an hour and still be at the legal limit of .08. That is surprising.

Khal, I agree with you that this was no accident. If you get "Fierroed" (.2 BAC and higher) and drive then its no accident.

If you do the drunk wheel calculation, those must have been two pretty strong mixers.

Dan Cron has a lot of nerve calling this an accident.

Well, this is Santa Fe. She'll get her slap on the wrist and be on her way.
