ALBUQUERQUE — Just hours after hundreds took to the streets to protest Albuquerque police fatally shooting a homeless camper, a man who opened fire on police was shot dead by officers, authorities said.

The suspect was shot late Tuesday outside an apartment complex following a 911 call about a man holding a child at gunpoint, Albuquerque police Chief Gorden Eden told reporters.

"Police Gun down man". Hmm. Seems a little inflammatory given the information provided there. (perhaps based on previous shootings, but inflammatory nonetheless.
