Albuquerque police chief: Wrong on shooting remark

ALBUQUERQUE — Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden admits he made a mistake when he said officers were justified in killing a homeless camper in the Sandia foothills.

Eden told reporters Monday he agreed with Mayor Richard Berry’s criticism that it was premature to say officers’ actions were justified in the fatal shooting of 38-year-old James Boyd on March 16.
