The state gets 20% of its budget from oil & gas royalties. These state funds go to public schools, health and welfare.....some goes to Mora. If Mora, or any other county, outlaws energy work, they should have their state aid cut by 20%. You cannot outlaw work in your county and still collect the taxes from that work.

How did this become relevant in Las Vegas? They get their water from the Gallinas River. One of their state reps. decided it was more prudent to ask the state for money for a GYM, rather than money to dig water wells! In addition, the elderly folks in Mora don't speak English?!! That is a canard!

THANK YOU FOR SMELLING THE COFFEE AND TELLING IT LIKE IT IS ! AND AS THEY SAY IN MORA "AGUA ES VIDA" ! AND AT A TIME OF SERIOUS SHORTAGES AND DROUGHT STATE WIDE, WE SHOULD BE EVEN MORE PROTECTIVE OF IT AND NOT SQUANDER IT ON A QUESTIONABLE AND UNTESTED, DESPITE WHAT THE INDUSTRY CLAIMS, DRILLING TECHNIQUE CALLED "FRACKING" !! AND WHICH IS, THANKS TO DICK CHENEY, NOT EVEN REGULATED UNDER THE CLEAN WATER AND AIR ACT !! OUTRAGEOUS !! NOT TO MENTION CLAIMING THE POISONOUS CHEMICALS USED ARE SO CALLED "TRADE-SECRETS" !!!
AND CAN'T BE PUBLICALLY DISCLOSED EITHER. !! ANOTHER OUTRAGE !!!

I'm surprised that no one thought of this. Water is more precious than oil in Mora County, especially in this drought.

Part of what the moribund U.S. environmental movement needs -- and in particular the fractured and chronically outclassed anti-fracking movement -- is an angrier soundtrack, not bogged down with musical baggage from old, hippy-dippy environmental campaigns. Here's a new American anthem guaranteed to stir the soul of any red-blooded environmentalist, as well as lure a few emotionally sensitive people over from the dark side. Feel free to use it. Scream your anger!
